HOUSING MARKET UPDATE

Naturally, given the Prime Minister’s, announcement on Saturday 31st October 2020 we have been receiving lots of calls asking for clarification on the impact of the lockdown on the housing market. Robert Jenrick, the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, appears to suggest the housing market will continue to operate through a second national lockdown in England.

We now await more lockdown details with ‘cautious optimism’ but wanted to reassure everyone, that it until we receive further news, business continues as usual, providing we adhere to the strict COVID safe procedures that we are currently operating within.

As soon as we receive further clarity on how this will impact current sales, as well as viewings on homes that are currently being marketed over the proposed lockdown period, we will update you with any changes to our service. We hope to receive further guidance very soon and that the answer will be ‘yes’ provided, as currently, everyone complies with the appropriate safety protocols. The legislation still needs to be passed through Parliament so may be subject to some further finessing later this week.
