Following the latest Government changes to the Tier System the Westminster government has published extensive guidance on the operation of the new Tier 4 Coronavirus restrictions in England.
This includes a section given over to moving home.
The full document covers working from home or at workplaces, educational locations, childcare, events such as weddings and funerals, sport and places of worship.
The entire moving home section is as follows:
“You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.
“Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.
“Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing and wearing a face covering.”
WIth regard to Tiers 1-3 the Government clearly states that you are able to leave your home in connection with the purchase, sale, letting or rental of a property as follows:
(i) visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes;
(ii) viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or to rent;
(iii) preparing a residential property to move in;
(iv) moving house;
(v) visiting a residential property to undertake any activities required for the rental or sale of that property.
