John Tomalin BA(Hons) TEP - Solicitor and Partner, Head of Department
John has headed the Private Client department since 1986. Working closely with our business, commercial and private clients has enabled him to plan for their future and those of their families. He can advise on Inheritance Tax Planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Family Partnerships and Private Company matters. He is a member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (S.T.E.P) and Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).

Ann Harris - Solicitor and Partner, Head of Department
An experienced property lawyer joined the firm's property team in 1988. Her expertise has developed in areas mainly concerned with commercial and agricultural matters and her specialisms include commercial leases, building/development sites and environmental law.

Katie Kent LL.B (Hons) - Associate Solicitor
Katie is an experienced civil litigation and family lawyer with particular expertise in the field of personal injury. She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and also of Resolution. Originally from Wiltshire, Katie joined the firm in 2005.

Nicola Mugleston LL.B (Hons) - Solicitor
Nicola works within our Conveyancing, Litigation and Private Client departments. She completed her training at Seldons and qualified as a Solicitor on 1st March 2010. Nicola grew up in North Devon and returned here after completing her Law Degree and Legal Practice Course in Bristol.

Ian Mitchell F.Inst.L.Ex - Legal Executive
Ian is Bideford born and bred and is our longest serving member of staff, having joined the firm in 1968. In 1978 Ian qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and during the time with the firm has amassed a wealth of experience in dealing with all aspects of Probate, Administration and Wills.

Sarah Russell - Legal Executive
Sarah, who qualified as a Legal Executive in 2001, has worked in residential conveyancing in North Devon for over ten years. Sarah joined Seldons in 2004 to head the Residential Case Management Unit.

Lucinda Horrell - Graduate Member of the Institute of Legal Executives
Lucinda joined Seldons in September 2003 as a junior secretary in the litigation department. She started training to be a Legal Executive in 2005, and has successfully completed all of her exams. She transferred into the firms Private Client Department in September 2007, after choosing to take up her studies and specialise in this area. She deals with the administration of estates, Powers of Attorney and undertakes Will drafting. She lives with her husband and her dog 'Tye' and in her spare time enjoys walking her dog, singing and playing the piano.

Richard Nicholls – LL.B (Hons) A. Inst. L. Ex - Paralegal
Richard was brought up locally before moving to South Wales to study Law. Richard returned to Bideford and joined Seldons in April 2005 to give general support to the residential conveyancing Case Management Unit.
