Below are frequently asked questions which arise during the selling and buying process and which may be of assistance to you if you are embarking on such a transaction, particularly if you are doing this for the first time.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us and discuss your requirements with one of our conveyancing team. At various stages during the transaction we will need to discuss matters with you and take your instructions on various aspects of your proposed sale and/or purchase so will be in regular contact with you.

When do I pay the deposit?

You will be required to pay a deposit on exchange of contracts, usually 10% of the purchase price. If you are selling at the same time the deposit received on your sale will usually be used as a deposit on your purchase. If you do not have sufficient funds available to pay a 10% deposit (as you may for example be obtaining a high percentage mortgage) we may be able to negotiate a lesser sum with the seller’s solicitors but please do let us know in good time of you do not have a 10% deposit available.
